The Violet Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx xanthorhynchus) is a small, brightly colored bird with iridescent violet plumage, a yellowish bill, and a striking red eye-ring. Males have a white underbelly with purple barring, while females are less vibrant with greenish upperparts and barred underparts.
